Meet Katie (Top Stylist)

As most will know I love to be bold! Inspiration takes many forms for me I’m fascinated by art, fashion, music, hair and makeup. For me I thrive when I am active I love dancing, skateboarding and being surrounded by nature. I absolutely love the 80s, especially all things new wave and post punk but I must admit my overall style is very eclectic.

I have completed my advanced hairdressing qualification with Stone Hair Art and Calderdale Collage of Technical Education gaining distinctions. I gained not only my level 3 diploma in makeup artistry but also my level 3 diploma in art and design. This gave me the opportunity to work on stage productions at places such as the Leeds arena. I have also worked with many local independent film, photography and fashion creatives as a freelance makeup artist and a model. In the salon I love to meet and get to know clients and also work with them on creating something new and interesting. I enjoy a juxtaposition between texture and graphic details, movement and precision, bold colours and subtle highlights. I find working as a hair stylist to be very therapeutic and yet still challenging which is what keeps me eager and excited to create.

For me I thrive when challenged by a client, it makes me creative. I show them the mirror with their final result and I can see the lift in their smile. It’s a wonderful thing and it fills me with gratitude for the industry i’m in.
